RAD Admin Account
This is available to all active Rutgers faculty/Staff to request an admin account for the Rutgers Active Directory (RAD). For more information please visit the RAD Admin Account page.
How Do I request a RAD admin account?
Please follow these steps to request a RAD admin account
- Go to https://requests.rutgers.edu/.
- Fill in the required fields and click on ‘Submit an RAD Admin Request.
- Your request will go through approval process as outlined here.
- Click on ‘Submit Request’ You should get message as :”Create RAD Admin Request. RAD Admin Request #’xxxxx’ has been submitted successfully. You will be notified when the request is approved and processed”
- You will then receive an email as below
- Follow the instructions in the email to complete the process. Email sample and Netid.rutgers.edu steps are shown below:

Dear XXXX,
Your request for a RAD Admin account has been approved and processed.
In order to obtain your RAD Admin account, you must complete the following instructions:
- Click on https://netid.rutgers.edu/loginView.htm?from=/createRadAdminAccount.htm
- Login with your primary NetID/Password
- You will be requested to enroll the newly created admin account with 2-factor authentication; please follow the instructions.
- Please set a password for your new admin account . The password must be different than your primary NetID’s password.
Your new admin account is now created for you in the following format “yournetid-adm”.
You can use your admin account to login to authorized services such as BOX.

Does this request give me any RAD admin privileges ?
No, this request only facilitates the creation of the RAD admin account via the NetID management application. Upon approval of your request, you will be able to set the admin account and password differently than your primary NetID/password. The format of the admin account will be {your NetID}-adm. In order to get any RAD admin privileges, you need to contact the appropriate Delegated OU admin for the area in which you need access.
