Mailing List Services

RAMS (Rutgers Automated Mailing System) allows an email list to be generated based on demographic information from the registrar or payroll data, and provides for automated updates to the list membership based on changes in the demographic information.  RAMS lists are moderated administrative lists.

Mailman allows users to create and manage their own mailing lists. A mailing list permits users to address an entire group of predesignated individuals by specifying only one address to the email software – a convenience for contacting groups with whom users correspond frequently and also for sharing information among people with common interests. If a user wants to send email to a large group of people at once, then a mailing list would most likely be an effective means for the delivery of information.
